Chapter 34: Return to the Crown

Some homes are not meant to be returned to.

Only broken. Only burned.

---

Scene 1: Back to Where It All Began

The Legacy estate loomed under a blood-colored sky—

Opulent. Cold. Haunted.

You hadn’t stepped foot here since your forced engagement.

The air still smelled like jasmine… and poison.

Yoongi walked beside you.

In a black suit.

No mic. No stage.

Just wrath.

“Ready?” he asked.

“No,” you said honestly. “But I’m going anyway.”

---

Scene 2: Inside the Lion’s Den

Disguised as guests of a charity gala, you moved through the estate like ghosts.

Champagne. Fake smiles. Eyes watching from the shadows.

Every chandelier gleamed with secrets.

And then—you found it.

Behind your father’s old study.

A hidden door.

The key your mother left… fit perfectly.

It clicked open.

A spiral staircase led underground.

---

Scene 3: The Vault of Truth

Inside:

Old contracts. Secret tapes. Bloodstained ledgers.

Your fingers trembled as you opened a sealed journal—

Your mother’s.

“They made me choose,” her writing read.

“Marry the empire… or lose my child.”

She had tried to run.

But they made it look like suicide.

Yoongi read in silence, jaw tight.

“They killed her,” you whispered.

“Then we make sure they answer for it.”

---

Scene 4: The Not-So-Dead

As you turned to leave, a voice rang through the chamber:

“You were never supposed to survive, Y/N.”

Raayan.

Smiling. Suit soaked from the rain.

Gun in hand.

“But now that you're here… I can finish what our fathers started.”

He stepped forward—

But another voice echoed behind him.

“Step back, Raayan. Or I shoot.”

Ishira.

Bruised. But alive.

“You ruined everything,” Raayan snarled.

“No,” Ishira said. “You did—when you touched her daughter.”

---

Scene 5: The Final Shot

Chaos broke.

Gunfire.

You ducked. Yoongi pulled you down.

When it ended—

Raayan lay bleeding. Not dead. But exposed.

Ishira dropped the weapon.

“Let him rot in the empire he worshipped.”

You looked at her.

“Why did you save me?”

Her voice broke.

“Because once, I wanted to be you.

Loved. Fierce. Free.”

---

Scene 6: Lighting the Match

You and Yoongi stood in the vault, holding your mother’s journal.

“It’s time,” he said.

You poured gasoline on the ledgers.

On the blood-soaked history.

On the weight of generations.

And then you lit the match.

The flames danced like freedom.
